"I, WOMXN" is a collaborative project bringing together black and femme artists from within the community with commonly shared narratives centered around living at the intersection of race, class and gender and the perennial struggle towards a self-governance free of hierarchical oppression. Through video, dance, and poetry this powerful performance engages audiences through the abstract and very specific. Each performance artist/artists is unique in the methods in which they choose to share their stories whether through dance, music or poetry yet share a common synchronicity in the shared struggle of navigating obstacles ranging from broken institutions of oppression to broken hearts sometimes blurring the line between them.
